Clerical Recheck / Mark Review

Where a candidate’s results are not as they were predicted a clerical recheck or mark review may be obtained following the steps below:

  • In the first instance candidates should speak with their relevant Head of Department / Subject to discuss their grades in relations to the grade boundaries.
  • If a candidate still wishes to pursue an EAR the Exams Office MUST receive a completed candidate consent form as candidate’s marks and subject grades may go down as well as up.  A consent form and fees list can be collected from the Exams Office 08.30 – 15:00 daily (Main Office outside term time) or can be accessed via the AES website.
  • Priority EAR (Level 3 qualifications only) forms and payments must be with the Exams Office by Thursday 25th August 2016.
  • All other completed forms and payments must be with the Exams Office by Tuesday 13th September 2016.

Access to Scripts (photocopy / original)

Priority photocopies of scripts (Level 3 qualifications only) must be applied for immediately following release of results.  To obtain a photocopy or original examination script candidates must follow the steps below:  

  • The Exams Office MUST receive a completed Access to Scripts form.  An Access to Scripts form and fees list can be collected from the Exams Office 08.30 – 15:00 daily (Main Office outside term time) or can be accessed via the AES website.
  • Priority Scripts (Level 3 qualifications only) forms and payments must be with the Exams Office by Thursday 25th August 2016.
  • All other completed forms and payments must be with the Exams Office by Tuesday  27th September 2016.
  • Candidates will be informed when to collect their returned scripts from the Examinations Office.

Once a candidate is in possession of an original script they are unable to make a request for Clerical Recheck and/or Review of Marking.
