Native Speaker Volunteers

Expired

Do you have any availability between 9:10am and 3:30pm to support our students with their language learning? Every year we welcome a group of native speakers from our wider school community to support our Sixth Form students with their language learning.  The Heads of Subject liaise with the volunteers, who then have a regular slot with a small group of students at a time to practice their speaking skills ahead of their exams.

If you would be happy to volunteer a few hours each week to support our students, it would be greatly appreciated. To volunteer, or for further information, please contact Mrs Latimer via enquiries@aesessex.co.uk

Teacher of Science - Biology PT 0.6

Closing Date: Jun 16 2025

Required from September 2025 or January 2026, Anglo European School is seeking a part time enthusiastic and well qualified teacher of Science with a specialism in Biology to join a successful, collaborative and supportive Science Department.  This position would be a suitable for an ECT or an experienced teacher looking for a different challenge or environment.

In this department, KS3 students are taught general science.  At GCSE, we aim to teach Science according to specialisms but, on occasion, teachers are required to offer beyond their science specialism and having the ability to do this is a distinct advantage.  The role will involve teaching students in the sixth form; support and training will be available to support a suitably qualified candidate to teach both A level and IB courses.

All science staff are encouraged to contribute to the development of the curriculum and are actively involved in developing science pedagogy and practice.  A commitment to STEM education, the extra-curricular programme and enrichment for our students is also highly valued.

The Science Department achieved 9-4 for GCSE Biology – 98%, Chemistry – 98%,  Physics – 98% and Combined Science 77% in summer 2024.  The sciences are very popular in the Sixth Form with students taking A level and IB Science courses.

The Anglo European School is a comprehensive school with a curriculum informed by internationalist principles, a strong international curriculum, a celebration of diversity and language learning, developing students who demonstrate outstanding personal, social and linguistic development.  All members of staff working at the school support the aims and ethos of the school and participate in the well-established visits and exchanges programme.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

We encourage applicants from under-represented backgrounds. Anglo European School is committed to providing equal opportunities for all employees and increasing diversity in education.

The Anglo European School is located in the village of Ingatestone in Essex with easy access to the A12 and M25.  Ingatestone is also only a 30-minute train journey from Liverpool Street station.

Emailed applications forms should be sent to recruitment@aesessex.co.uk
