Chinese Outreach Brings New Year Celebrations to Primary Pupils

Chinese New Year celebrations have been extended to local feeder schools through an outreach programme led by The Anglo European School. As part of this initiative, the school recently welcomed pupils from Mountnessing Primary School for a day of cultural learning and activities.

During their visit, Year 5 students took part in a spring roll cooking lesson alongside a Chinese language taster session, offering them a hands-on introduction to Chinese culture. The visit concluded with student presentations, where pupils showcased posters on Chinese New Year that they had prepared in advance.

The projects impressed staff with their creativity and depth of research, making it a challenging task to select winners for the prize awards. The programme aims to inspire younger students to continue their interest in Mandarin, with hopes that many will go on to join language classes in the future.
